About Lesson
The benefit of effective altruism as opposed to regular good-doing is that effective altruism takes a more analytical and strategic approach to do good. Rather than simply donating to charities or causes that feel good, effective altruists research and identify the most effective interventions, donating to charities with proven success, and advocating for policy changes that can make a real difference in people’s lives. By doing this, effective altruism has the potential to create more significant and lasting change in the world than traditional forms of good-doing.
